Summary
A deep dive into Airbnb listings in Melbourne for 2023—reviews, bookings and pricing— across the top suburbs and room types.
Data Preparation
With a clean dataset, I concentrated on:
- Validating date and numeric fields.
- Filtering to 2023 data only.
- Creating DAX measures (e.g. average nightly price).
Visual Highlights
- Suburb Insights: Bar chart showing total bookings by suburb—Melbourne City, Port Phillip & Yarra lead the pack.
- Room Type Breakdown: Pie chart with Entire Home/Apt capturing 72.8% of listings.
- Pricing Table: A detailed table of average prices by room type and suburb.
- Review KPIs: Key metrics for average reviews, total reviews and number of suburbs analysed.
